This is an extremely hard to find original cast iron operators platform from an International Harvester McCormick header. This is where the operator stood on while the machine was being used. The horses pushed the header as it harvested the wheat heads and elevated them onto wagons. These were mostly used in the larger prairie areas. This platform measures about 27 x 36 inches and is about 4 inches thick with the integral toolbox. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It would be a great addition to your cast iron seat or IHC memorabilia collection or display. It would look especially neat as a step or recessed into the floor in front of your fireplace or woodstove! These original platforms are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets mostly because it’s been over a century since they were in use so if you’ve been looking for some don’t miss your chance on this one.
