HERE IS A CLASSIC OLD “TEX-MEX” BLANKET / FLOOR RUG. THIS WEAVING HAS VERY REFINED HAND SPUN, HAND CARDED AND HAND DYED WEFT AND WARP WOOLS – VERY SIMILAR IN QUALITY TO ANTIQUE GERMANTOWN WOOLS. THIS IS A LARGE, TIGHTLY WOVEN AND DENSE WEAVING, VERY WELL MADE. OVERALL THIS BLANKET IS IN GREAT CONDITION – IT DOES HAVE SEVERAL STAINS WHICH LOOK LIKE THEY WOULD ALL COME OUT WITH A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING – YET AN AMAZING LOOKING DISPLAY PIECE AS IS! REALLY INCREDIBLE LOOKING WOOLS, ESPECIALLY IN SUNLIGHT, AND INCREDIBLE VARIEGATION LINES WITHIN THE RED FIELD – PICS DON’T DO THIS RUG JUSTICE! THIS IS AN OLD RUG, OLDER THAN IT LOOKS, YOUCAN TELL BY THE HAND SPUN, CARDED AND DYED WOOLD, AS WELL AS QUALITY OF THE WOOL. AN ANTIQUE AND UNCOMMON WEAVING WHICH HAS SOME MINOR WEAR AND TEAR, BUT CONTINUES TO DISPLAY BEAUTIFULLY AS IS! THIS IS A CLASSIC AND EARLY TEX-MEX OR RIO GRANDE VALLEY / PUEBLO AREA WEAVING! THIS BLANKET DISPLAYS VERY WELL AS IS AND AS A WALL HANGER/TAPESTRY OR FLOOR RUG – (SEE PICS). NOTE THE FINE LOOKING A CLASSIC DESIGNS/PATTERN AND COLORS. The size of this textile is, BIG AND approximately 104 ” X 64″, with a Hand Spun Wool Warp of about 12, and a hand carded and spun Wool Weft of about 44 super fine weave!!! A beautifully designed, well constructed piece of Ethnic North America America! THIS WEAVING HAS SOME MINOR WEAR/TEAR AND IS IN EXCELLENT TO VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR AGE Please see all pics! : The wools within this rug are in great condition and look amazing, still have luster and sheen, and the weaving is structurally sound. This weaving is made from densely spun and carded sheep wools. This textile is hand dyed with aniline, which was commonly used at the time. There are several stains, see last pic fo corner for the worst/largest stain. The corners, edges and overall structural condition of the blanket is excellent – see pics.
