This offering is for a vintage mid 20th century Folk Art Birch Bark Box or Container. The box measures app. 8.5″ in height and 5″ in width and is oval shaped. The bottom has the makers initials A. Near the slide opening. The side has applied figures of a Moose, a Fish and a Deer. Just above the fish are applied initials P. The bentwood box was made with a finger locking design visible on the back, a removable top for storing coffee and a slide opening on the bottom for storing sugar. The surface is a fairly heavy glossy varnish that has yellowed some with age. There are no cracks, breaks or repairs and the original leather pull tab is still in place on the lid.
