Late 20th Century – early 21st Century USA. It is a lovely piece in like new condition. It has had 2 repairs were there was a separation in one board on each side of the chest which had been glued, clamped, and sanded back and a lacquer finish applied to those areas and buffed to match the existing finish. There are several small dings, small finish dents and minor scratches which are all posted as a collage in the final picture. They are marks that are typical furniture marks that happen with age and normal use. The deeper dings have been stained if need and seal with a clear lacquer. With all that said with the size of this chest which is huge. Those scattered dings are not that noticeable and the beauty of the chest is not detracted from. It has a beautiful finish that is in very nice condition even free from a lot of minor scratches. The 9 dovetailed drawers have no signs of use and are very clean. The bottom large cedar lined drawer has 14 solid cedar planks on the sides and bottom of the drawer that also has a lock but no key. All of the inside wood of this chest is paneled and all floating giving the inside bare wood the room so expand and shrink with the seasons without putting pressure on the outside cherry planks. The chest is clean inside and out with no odors. Item offered is a stunning Statton Private Collection Old Towne Solid Dark Cherry 9 drawer High Chest with a large cedar lined bottom drawer. It has a Chippendale style with large polished brass drawer pulls. The 9 dovetailed drawers offer plenty of storage. It is a very large chest of drawers with a nice shell carving. It is in very nice condition and has regular dings and light scratches but over all does not appeared to have been used very much and certainly did not have heavy use. If not for a few minor dings and repairs it would be showroom perfect. The dark finish is in very nice condition. The solid brass pulls are in very nice condition. The 9 drawers glide smoothly.
