Old large and well used Senufo African stool, hand carved from a single block of very heavy hard wood. Sturdy and perfectly useable nevertheless. Sorry, no international sale for this stool, it’s too big.
This is one of a few Ibibio masks of this type, with saucer-size eye surrounds and a fierce grin. It was obtained from a reputable Australian tribal arts dealer (at considerable cost). Also miraculously intact, this detail is often found on Ogoni masks but also the Ibibio in Nigeria.
