FANTASTIC, RARE, HUGE & HEAVY AUTHENTIC 1970’S PRCA DINOSAUR ROUNDUP, VERNAL, UTAH, USA, MONTANA SILVERSMITHS BRAND BONDED STERLING SILVER “MONTANA SILVER” COWBOY RODEO STEER WRESTLING TROPHY BELT BUCKLE- We bought this GIGANTIC Montana Silversmiths trophy buckle as part of a collection that was originally owned by a well known rodeo champ from the 1970’s. He competed in the DINOSAUR ROUNDUP during some of those years. It is held in Vernal, Utah, and was accepted as a PRCA sanctioned event in 1952 as a part of their Wilderness Circuit. The Roundup is still active as a part of that PRCA circuit and will be held this 2023 year on July 6, 7 and 8. The buckle is also rare because it has the “MONTANA SILVER” hallmark…. Which was used in the 1970’s by the famous official NFR buckle maker to indicate that a heavy layer of sterling silver was BONDED (not plated) to the main nickel base metal surfaces. The only designation used that was better than this was “STERLING SILVER”. The buckle shows minor signs of use and light wear, but it was worn some over the many years since it was made. You could clean & polish it to make it looks newer. But we think it’s already great looking… And it still works perfectly on a belt. The measurements are 5 1/8″ x 3 1/2″, fits belts up to 1 1/2 wide, and weighs about 5 to 6 ounces.
