For sale is a circa 1930s “Old Salt” Nautical Metal / Brass on Wood wall plaque. This plaque at one time had light up eyes and smoking pipe, however the cord was removed at some point and the wires are exposed if desired to see if it can once again be used as intended. The plaque measures approximately 9-3/8″ H x 7-1/4″ at it’s widest point. He is a heavy piece weighing approximately 3 lbs. It features what appears to be solid brass metal (it is not magnetic and very solid) face of “Old Salt” with great attention to detail, glass blue eyes which I have rarely come across which are very eerie, and brass pipe that can be positioned how you desire. It is connected to a solid two-tone wood base with really allows the piece to pop. On the backside there is a metal hanger attached and remnants of previous wiring. Very unique item for those that enjoy a unique nautical styled item or cherish older well crafted unique pieces. It is quite possible with rewiring it may work, but there is no cord attached to test and wiring is exposed. Overall the piece is in good cosmetic condition with no damage, metal/brass is highly tarnished with pitting and discoloration from age. The wood plaque has a few condition areas from age, but enhances the character and rustic style of the piece.
