This is a large size heavy Iron Japanese sword Tsuba, its decorated on both sides with Gold and what looks to be Silver, looks to be 17th -late 18th Century from what I have been told. This is a Tsuba from a small collection of Japanese sword fittings we will be listing, they are all Edo period original items and not later modern copies, they are all period correct.
